(some quick report on the last game)
It was a hot afternoon as the Fuc.. erm Fighting Cocks gathered for the first time ever for our league opener after everyone had done our own pre-season training. Some played small court soccer, some others successfully gained weight and a big belly, some were on a liquor diet, while some practised their soccer playing the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea with their hands and consoles.
The turn up was amazing. Only less than half the number of players were missing! CvU was suffering from jet lag as he had just arrived at the airport after having been called up for international duty for Vietnam U13. Apparently, we came too early as the field was not open yet. However that didn't stop us from spreading our contagious soccer spirit. Some were juggling balls as if they were their own. Some showed great skills in dribbling as the soccer balls stick to their feet like balls stick to their .....
Finally the field was open. We had a good, long, fun warm up with lots of bird shooting and monkey soccer. We were laughing and having fun. Some were already panting, seemingly out of breath and called it a day.
The opponents dominated in the first minutes as we could not settle down so early. By mid-first half, we were already 2-nil down. We started to settle down and look really dangerous at the end of first half which also saw the opponents' goalie got injured after saving a series of shots from our strikers.
We kept pressing the second half with fresh legs. With so many missed chances, we only manage to open our flood gate at around 60th minutes with a close range strike from our youngest player who happens to be our biggest player. I could not rememer when the opponent scored their third goal? Is it after Tien's goal?
Nam added in the 2nd with a good left leg shot from outside the penalty box. Trung added the last as a rebound from Minh's freekick. All goals were scored in like 15 minutes. We could even have won the game as we missed a few chances in the last 5 minutes.
Amazing fighting spirit guys! We never say die k. Next time if we concede first, just remember that we never say die, we will always be able to come back.
Man of the Match for this game will go to Tien. He played very well after he changed from center back to center forward.
Most improved player will go to Thai Nomad. I was surprised to see you play so well. Well done! keep it up man.
